To create the largest, entertaining, accessible, and organized multi-media collection of world-wide woman’s history.
MISSION
OUR VISION
We envision a future where women do not have to jump over so many hurdles to become their best selves.
Obstacles appear in many forms – some blatant, most subliminal, and everywhere systemic. Our vision is to do everything possible to shed light on and remove these hurdles.
We start with Women’s History.
OUR GOAL
1.) Thousands of biographies centralized in one online multi-media library.
2.) Organized behind an intuitive custom navigational system interface.
3.) Advanced search function drills down to sub-categories.
4.) Researchers dig deep to distinguish fact from speculation.
5.) Stories adhere to content usability best practices for easy reading.
6.) When possible, stories will be made into mini-documentaries.
7.) Integrated across multi-social media platforms.
8.) International outreach promoting the project.
* The speed in which we reach our goal of thousands of stories is entirely dependent on funding. We plan to launch slowly in order to set up a solid foundation with scalable systems.
As women continue to make history, we will continue to expand.
WHY WE NEED THIS PROJECT
Girls score higher than boys in all subjects in sixty countries. However, studies reveal that the inaccurate perception that boys are smarter than girls persists.
Alarmingly, even in the U.S., 37% of fourth-grade boys believe that they are smarter than girls, and 22% of fourth-grade girls think that girls need less education. Studies suggest that a perception change occurs around the time that a child enters elementary school.
Lack of confidence for girls is an epidemic worldwide. Studies link this fact to a wide variety of issues in adulthood.
Girls from developing nations are twice as likely to suffer from malnutrition, three times more likely to end up out of school, and twice as likely to suffer sexual violence.
“In the United States, gender discrimination manifests in a variety of ways as women grow up – it’s a part of what makes sexual assault, unequal pay, and potentially toxic workplaces a constant issue.”
Without a doubt – it will affect ALL women’s confidence and ability to reach their full potential.
DONATE – SUPPORT WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH
The amount of stories we can create depends entirely on donations. Every dollar you donate will help us preserve the legacy of great women everywhere. Thank you.
